Project Description:

The project involves the rehabilitation of the K Street Bridge over I-395, Massachusetts Avenue Bridge over I-395, H Street Bridge over I-395, and the Electrical-Mechanical Upgrades of the Air-Rights Tunnel. This project is a multi-phase project that will impact the travelling public. All who utilize K Sreet Bridge over I-395, Massachusetts Avenue Bridge over I-395, H Street Bridge over I-395 and the 3rd Street Tunnel will be kept abreast of upcoming traffic changes through various Media in an effort to inform the public of possible delays and afford opportunities to modify travel routes. The project duration is sixteen months. During that time the bridge surfaces will be upgraded, street lighting and sidewalks will be improved to eliminate any potential obstacles to pedestrians. At the same time the electrical and mechanical functions of the Air Rights Tunnel will be upgraded and improved to provide better lighting and air exchange within the tunnel for motorists and all who use the tunnel.
